Wells Barren Preserve Field Study

Explore several carefully stewarded parts of the 367-acre fire-adapted landscape of the Wells Barrens Preserve. Managed by The Nature Conservancy, the preserve’s sandplain grasslands, blueberry heath barrens, and pitch pine woodlands demonstrate how prescribed burns sustain rare plant communities and the flora and fauna that depend on them.
