Plants 101: Introduction to the Green World
This course is designed for curious beginners who want to learn more about how we define and classify plants, how they function, how they participate in our ecosystems, and more. This course is also appropriate for individuals who have some plant knowledge and would appreciate a refresher. Plants 101 will introduce you to a range of plants, with a particular focus on the diverse plant life of New England. Readings, videos featuring experienced botanists and horticulturists, short journaling exercises, and outdoor exploration will facilitate your learning. As you move through this course, you will grow in your ability to describe plants and to advocate for their importance. We strongly recommend that all students enroll in Plants 101 before taking Plant Form and Function, Plant Ecology, or Plant Families.
Please note: Registration closes Friday, November 1, 2024 at 12 PM.
