Plant Form and Function
This introduction to botany covers the basics of plant anatomy and physiology and addresses the fundamentals of the plant kingdom. We will take a microscopic look at roots, stems, leaves, and their component tissues. We will also examine flowers, fruits, and seeds and discuss pollination, fertilization, dispersal, and germination, with an emphasis on the relationship between plant form and function. This Basic Certificate online core course is self-paced, requires field work, and provides opportunities for peer discussion. An instructor will guide you in your learning, review your assignments, and answer your questions. Please note: Registration closes Monday, June 12, 2023, at 12 PM OR when all spaces fill, whichever comes first. Course access ends on Friday, August 18, 2023, 12 PM.
