Keyes Sandplain Grassland Field Study
Observe the early impacts of a habitat restoration project at the Ebenezer Keyes Conservation Area in Gardner, MA with conservation staff from North County Land Trust. The goal of this project is to restore ecological value, improve biodiversity, and increase climate resiliency to a site disturbed by failed development projects. This habitat type is globally rare and supports multiple species on the Massachusetts list of species of special concern. Participants in this field study will have the opportunity to practice techniques for removing invasive species, and to observe preliminary growth of little bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium), among other species.
