The Buttercup Family
Discover all the native and a number of the introduced members of the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae) that grow in natural habitats in New England. Immerse yourself in this varied and strikingly beautiful group of wildflowers as you engage in an interactive presentation and study herbarium specimens. In addition to the ‘true’ buttercups (Ranaunculus), buttercup family genera that will be discussed include baneberry (Actaea), columbine (Aquilegia), anemone (Anemone), marsh marigold (Caltha), clematis (Clematis), goldenseal (Hydrastis), meadow rue (Thalictrum) and globeflower (Trollius).
