Vernal Mustards
A number of mustard family (Brassicaceae) plants are among the earliest to bloom in spring in fields, woods, and wetlands, but because of their close resemblance to one another can be a challenge to identify. Using slides, herbarium specimens, and a walk in the neighborhood near the Garden in the Woods, this class will focus on the identification, habitat preferences, and New England distributions of 20-25 native and introduced spring-flowering species in the mustard family.
Please note: We do not make video or audio recordings of classes or programs available after the fact, because we believe education is interactive, with instructors and students building a community and culture of learning.
