Plant Families
In this foundational course, you will learn the botanical terms used to describe plants and flowers, the evolutionary/phylogenetic basis for classification, and the identifying characteristics for several major plant families common to New England. Participants will learn through assignments designed for outdoor observation and indoor dissection of plant material. This Basic Certificate online core course is self-paced, requires fieldwork and provides opportunities for peer discussion. An instructor will guide you in your learning, review your assignments, and answer your questions. Please note: Registration closes Monday, June 12, 2023, at 12 PM OR when all spaces fill, whichever comes first. Course access ends on Friday, August 18, 2023, 12 PM.
